Proof Prayer Works

What would happen, if when we prayed, and while praying, God showed up and revealed His glory before us while we were talking to Him? We would pray differently. We would respond with overwhelming seriousness. We would be in awe, speechless, and become aware of our sinfulness. Our definition of awesome would become all about God alone.

What is it gonna take? Don’t wait for a big blow up to happen before you pray. Don't wait for all hell to break loose. WHEN you pray, When, When, When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. Matthew 6:5.

Now it came about in the course of those many days that the king of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage and they cried out. And their cry for help because of their bondage rose up to God. So God heard their groaning and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them. Exodus 2: 23-25

Proof prayer works.

In the story of Elijah and the widow, we all know about the famine in the land and how all the widow had left was a handful of flour and a little oil, just enough to feed her and her son. One meal and then she had plans on dying. But Elijah said, “Make me a cake first.” And she did. She saw the hand of God working, “the bowl of flour was not exhausted nor did the jar of oil become empty."

PROOF Prayer works.

Immediately following a blessing, later on, her son became sick, she said to Elijah, "What have you done?" Blaming it on the servant…

Then he stretched himself upon the child three times, and called to the Lord and said, “O Lord my God, I pray You, let this child’s life return to him.” The Lord heard the voice of Elijah, and the life of the child returned to him and he revived. 1 Kings 17: 21-22

In light of the prayer’s power, Proof, why would we ever be satisfied just pretending?
